What is Top Drawer?
Top Drawer is a private photo and video library that runs on a server you own. Private AI on that server understands what's in your photos and videos, so you can search in plain words and find the exact moment inside a video.
Are my photos uploaded to you?
No. Your photos and videos are stored on your own hardware. Nothing in your library is uploaded to us.
Does the AI send my photos to the cloud?
No. The AI runs on your own server or computer, or even a virtual server at a provider you choose and trust, so your photos are analysed where they're stored. Nothing is sent to an AI company.
What can the AI do?
It understands people, places, objects, text and what's happening in each photo and video. It writes captions and tags, groups faces, lets you search in plain words, and finds moments inside long videos.
Can I keep some photos separate from my main library?
Yes. Nightstand is a private space for your most personal photos and videos, with its own key and its own lock. Its AI understands what’s really in the scene. Nothing in it is ever shared unless you choose to, and if you do, it writes captions to match and can post to the places that kind of content belongs, after you review and confirm exactly what is going out. Is my library encrypted?
Yes. Your library is encrypted at rest with a key only you hold. One tap locks everything, on every device.
Which devices does it work on?
Apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac, plus a web app, come first. We are also developing apps for Android, Windows and Linux, so every photo on every device can end up in one library. Your phone's camera roll can back up to your server automatically.
Can I save photos and videos from other websites?
Yes. When you see something you like online, send it to your drawer. It lands in your inbox, the private AI works out what it is, and it’s filed in the right place, in your main library or in Nightstand.
Can I share to social media?
Yes. You can post straight to your favourite platforms from the app, and you decide exactly what leaves your library.
What hardware do I need?
A computer or server you own that stays on, with enough storage for your library. We'll publish exact requirements before launch.
